Two ways to find your sound
Most songs you see on Superbackings are already produced, ready-to-download backing tracks. You can choose a title from our catalogue and use the available MP3 version without waiting for a recording session. But sometimes the song you need isn't there — or the arrangement you have in mind simply doesn't exist yet.
That's where our custom backing tracks made from scratch come in. Instead of choosing a finished catalogue track, you can request a new production built around your song and your performance. We can carefully recreate the sound of a reference recording, or discuss changes to the arrangement, instrumentation and feel to better suit a live show, rehearsal or recording project.
Custom productions are recorded and produced by Nico Studio. Nico Studio has its own website, but is part of the same company as Superbackings: two places to find music, with two different ways of ordering it.
When you commission a track through Nico Studio, you don't receive only a final instrumental mix. Your custom production comes with the finished listening and performance files plus the individual stems, giving you the freedom to make adjustments later without starting again.

You'll also receive access to Nico Studio Mastering Suite, so those stems are not simply files sitting in a folder: you have a place to work with them.
Included with custom productions
Imagine rehearsing with a little less guitar, bringing the piano forward for an acoustic set, or preparing a different balance for a live performance. With Mastering Suite, you can open the individual stems from your custom order and adjust the instruments to suit the way you perform.
Work on levels and panning, shape the tone with EQ, use dynamics and effects when needed, and export a new mix. You start with a recording produced for you by Nico Studio; the final balance doesn't have to be exactly the same every time you use it.
